MY STORY
Studies have shown that visual communication can be more powerful than verbal communication, suggesting that people learn and retain information presented visually more efficiently than that only presented verbally. For example, if you are given directions in a quick presentation of pointed fingers and upcoming landmarks you can get easily confused. But, when a visual tool such as a GPS is intro ducted it assists in delivering a message. However what if the GPS lists directions poorly and isn’t legible? Since visual communication reaches a large number of people the message being presented must be clearly and accurately delivered. Today people visually communicate more than ever, they also communicate at a higher level of quality and understanding due to accessibility and organization of visual information. Whether it’s a road sign that restricts parking, an online time card program, or the weather forecast we rely on a constant stream of information. As a student designer my role in the communication industry is not just to sell information but to visually inform any targeted audience.
